Extensions to a Listed Building (1)

A timber framed house in Essex, remodelled in the eighteenth century, was inventively extended by glazing the rear passageways to connect an old bakehouse and new side extension, unifying the whole house and giving an aspect to the garden that was formerly missing. The glazed-over passageways retained the external character with windows looking out into the space and the old water pump now standing inside the dining area.
